EDR Broadcast support and troubleshooting.

Use this guide when the app will not open, overlays are not visible, iRacing data is missing or a remote production feature needs checking before a race.

App launch

Restart the PC, confirm you installed the latest official beta and try opening EDR Broadcast before starting your broadcast software or iRacing.

Overlay display

Check the overlay is enabled, visible in OBS, vMix or your browser-source compatible production software, and layered above your iRacing capture.

iRacing data

Open an active iRacing session and give the app time to read the session before testing timing graphics.

Plan access

Confirm you are signed into the right account and that your trial or subscription is active.

Remote crew

Check the host PC is online, the room is active and the operator link has not expired.

Before going live

Run a practice session, check every scene and keep a clean fallback scene ready.

Find the problem before changing the setup

The overlay is blank in OBS

Confirm EDR is running and the graphic is enabled. Open the exact overlay URL on the broadcast PC. If it works there, check the OBS source URL, visibility, layer order and dimensions. If it is blank there too, check EDR and the active iRacing session first. Follow the full browser-source checklist.

The overlay resets when I switch scenes

OBS can unload a Browser source when it is hidden or refresh it when a scene becomes active. Inspect those source properties and test one change at a time during practice. See the official OBS Browser Source settings.

The picture is visible but timing has stopped

Check whether iRacing is still connected to the session and whether EDR is receiving changing session data. A local graphic can remain visible while its data is stale. Switch to a standby scene if you cannot confirm the displayed timing is current.

OBS reports rendering or encoding lag

Reduce the load before adding hardware: simplify the scene, remove unnecessary active sources, cap the game frame rate and test a lower output frame rate or resolution. Change one variable, record the result and compare OBS statistics. See OBS performance troubleshooting and the one-PC versus two-PC guide.

Viewers cannot hear the commentator

Check the voice source meter, mute state and the audio track selected for streaming. A voice track in a local recording does not prove it is included in the live mix. Listen to the actual platform feed on a second device. Use the streaming and audio guide.

A remote operator cannot control the show

Confirm the production host is online and the operator has the correct current access for the intended role. Keep local control available while checking the connection. Use the remote crew workflow to rehearse a handover before race night.
